Tips for renting in Morzine
Morzine is synonymous with mountain biking. The Morzine-Les Gets bike park opens for summer, typically from mid-June to mid-September, with lift access to a wide network of downhill and enduro trails. Book your bike early if you are visiting in July or August, as high-end full-suspension bikes are in high demand.
If you are new to downhill riding, ask your rental shop to recommend green and blue-graded trails in the bike park. Staff at local shops know the trail network inside out and can match you with the right bike setup and suspension settings for your weight and ability.
Road cyclists and gravel riders will enjoy the climbs around Morzine, including the Col de Joux Plane and the ascent to Avoriaz. E-bikes are also widely available and ideal for exploring the valley at a relaxed pace, reaching Lac de Montriond or neighbouring villages without battling every climb.
Don't forget protection. For bike park riding, a full-face helmet and body armour are strongly recommended. Most rental shops offer protective gear alongside the bike, so factor that into your booking.
