Tips for renting in Cannes
Book your bike at least a couple of days ahead during peak season, especially around the Cannes Film Festival in May and throughout summer. Electric bikes and road bikes are in high demand, and availability drops fast on sunny weekends. Some shops like Pop'Bike Cannes also rent scooters and Mini Mokes if you fancy a change of pace.
The Croisette is the obvious starting point for a seaside spin, but expect foot traffic on warm days. For a more athletic ride, head west toward Mandelieu-la-Napoule and into the Massif de l'Esterel, where red rock trails and Mediterranean panoramas make for unforgettable mountain biking.
The winding roads up to Mougins and Grasse reward climbers with sweeping views over the bay and charming hilltop villages. Carry enough water — refill points are scarce once you leave the coast.
Always check whether theft and damage insurance is included in your rental, particularly if you plan to lock up the bike while visiting the Îles de Lérins by boat. A sturdy lock is essential for stops in the city centre.
