Tips for renting in Antibes
The coastal road around Cap d'Antibes is one of the most scenic cycling routes on the Riviera. While the narrow Sentier du Littoral footpath is for walkers only, the boulevard de la Garoupe offers stunning sea views and is fully accessible by bike.
During peak summer months from June through September, traffic in central Antibes and around the Juan-les-Pins beaches can be heavy. Setting out early in the morning lets you enjoy quieter roads and cooler temperatures. Electric bikes are especially useful for tackling the hills toward Sophia Antipolis or the villages of the hinterland.
Bring or request a sturdy lock if you plan to park your bike around Port Vauban or the Provencal market area. Most rental providers include locks and helmets with their packages.
The cycle path connecting Antibes to Nice via Cagnes-sur-Mer is a well-maintained route of about twenty kilometres, perfect for a full-day outing along the coast with plenty of spots to stop for a swim or a meal.
